Storyteller

K. Swope Romero is a diverse author and filmmaker of mystery-driven dramas with a focus on social issues and a splash of death. California born to a mother of Mexican-American descent, she was raised on the Southwest coast of Florida with her two younger sisters. Before serving in the U.S. Peace Corps in Jamaica, K studied Human Sciences and Psychology at Florida State University.

Her unique experience informs her complex female leads as they navigate loss, challenge stereotypes, and battle the dynamics of identity while exploring how their past, present, and future intersect. In her spare time she enjoys teaching yoga, hosting parties, learning more about her Apache ancestors, and playing with her majestic cat, Stevie.

She is based between Los Angeles and New York and is currently available for creative engagements.
